Halal Application Process

How Does It Work?

Explore our straightforward 4-Step Process for obtaining Halal Certification below. For a more comprehensive overview, refer to our Halal Certification Chart.

STEP ONE: APPLY

Fill out the Application for Halal Accreditation Service. Each Halal Product Submission Form must be accompanied by ingredient data sheets. Provide a technical ingredient and specification sheet for every ingredient used in your product’s manufacturing process.

STEP TWO: CONFIRMATION

Our AL HIDAYA HALAL food technologist team will assess the suitability and halal status of your product. Upon confirmation, we will provide an Agreement and Halal Certification Fee to the applicant.

STEP THREE: AUDIT & APPROVAL

A Halal audit of your premises will be conducted by the AL HIDAYA HALAL Halal Services Manager or a designated representative. Halal approval is granted once all requirements are met, and a contract is established between the applicant and AL HIDAYA HALAL. Upon successful audit, the Agreement will be signed, and the fee will be collected.

STEP FOUR: CERTIFICATION

The final stage is the issuance of the Halal Accreditation Certificate, valid for one year and subject to renewal thereafter.

Extending Your Certificate:

Certificates may be extended in specific situations, such as:

  • Delays in evaluation due to a heavy workload or other factors.
  • Unavailability of the Technical Manager for approval.
  • Unforeseen circumstances like COVID-19 travel restrictions or factory shutdowns.

Extensions are granted for up to three months from the certificate's expiry date and are approved by the National Halal Manager.

Reducing the Scope of Accreditation:

The scope of accreditation may be reduced under circumstances including:

  • Non-compliance of a product with relevant requirements.
  • Voluntary withdrawal of a product from the accreditation certificate.
  • Other unavoidable circumstances.

Decisions on scope reduction are made by the Technical Manager, who will approve and issue a revised certificate reflecting the reduced scope and the reason for the change.
